What should I know about check-in, policies and timing before booking?
Check-in starts at 3:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 noon. The lead guest must be at least 18. The hotel is smoke-free and pets are not allowed, apart from emotional or medical support animals, which need prior arrangement with the hotel. A local city tax of MXN 58.66 per accommodation per night is charged at the property. The resort is scheduled to close for a full renovation from May 15 to November 30, 2026, so plan dates around that.
How easy is it to get to Iberostar Waves Tucán from the airport, and is there parking?
The resort is about 60 km from Cancún International Airport, and a private transfer takes roughly 55–60 minutes depending on traffic. The hotel's own airport shuttle carries an extra charge. Free self-parking is available for guests if you are renting a car. There is no complimentary local shuttle, but Playa del Carmen's Fifth Avenue is about a 10-minute taxi ride away.
